TMA reflection

TMA02 was split in to three parts.

The first asked for the production of a plan only, for a web report (link) of about 1500 words. For this I produced a plan broken down into four sections:

Introduction

Main body

Conclusion

References - Properly referenced links to three non OU websites.

To do this I used the information and guidance given by Module 1 Section 2 of the T171 website 1.  I could have improved it by explaining the benefits of using images & links in such a report. This was highlighted by the feedback (link). Taking this on board I have tried to implement the comments in all future assignments.

The second asked to discuss the differences between IBM & Microsoft in relation to the PC’s development. For this I produced a discussion document of the required length, with a layout similar to that produced for the web report plan. I included within the answer what I thought were the pain points to discuss. This assessed the information given in Module 1 section 5 of the T171 website2 and chapter    of “Accidental Empires”3 . The feedback suggested additional issues (link) which I should have used. I have tried to use the feedback in my thinking processes when attempting other TMA’s.

The third ask to explain the difference between synchronous and asynchronous communication technologies. I produced the answer (link) using examples such as weblog or blog and the First Class chat software.
